The High-Value Nutrition National Science Challenge was delighted to be part of the recent Pūhoro STEMM Academy Pō Whakanui.
The event brought together members of the Pūhoro STEMM Academy, Pūhoro interns, their whānau, host organisations and supervisors to recognise and celebrate the achievements of the Pūhoro summer interns.
“It was a night to celebrate the accomplishments of rangatahi Māori in the pursuit of excellence striving on the foundation set by their tipuna.” Arohaina Owen, HVN Vision Mātauranga Leader.
HVN Research Excellence Award
Luke August (Ngāti Hauiti, Te Āti Haunui-a-Pāpārangi)
Congratulations to Luke, who was awarded the HVN Research Excellence Award, which fosters and recognises exceptional research presentations.
Arohaina Owen and Simmon Hofstetter, HVN Research Operations Manager, were delighted to present the award to Luke and were impressed by the passionate and well-spoken interns.
“The programme is generating interest in the next generation and connecting them to exciting experiences to keep that interest alive over the long term. Without this talent there is no innovation – and the Food and Beverage industry will be looking to them for future leadership and ideas.” Simmon Hofstetter.
